Gunite Pool Construction
Custom Gunite Pools in Katy
Gunite is the most flexible way to build a pool. A pneumatically applied concrete shell is sprayed over a steel rebar cage, so the pool can take any shape, depth, tanning ledge, or vanishing edge you can draw. That freedom is why most high end backyards in Cinco Ranch and along Highland Knolls Drive are gunite. Samsparro handles the full build, from layout and excavation through steel, plumbing, shell, tile, coping, deck, interior finish, and startup.
Why Homeowners Choose Gunite
- Total design freedom. Curves, beach entries, raised spas, and negative edges are all on the table because the shell is formed on site, not molded in a factory.
- Long lived finishes. A pebble interior holds up fifteen to twenty five years, well past the five to ten of standard white plaster, and quartz sits between the two.
- Built to last. A properly cured concrete shell is the most durable structure of the three build types and can be resurfaced and updated for decades.
Our Process
We start with a design and a firm written quote, then pull permits and excavate. The rebar cage goes in, plumbing is roughed, and the gunite crew sprays the shell. After cure we set waterline tile and coping in travertine or cast concrete, pour the deck to drain away from the water, and apply your chosen plaster, quartz, or pebble finish. Every build gets ANSI/PHTA/ICC-7 anti entrapment drain covers and the NEC 680.26 bonding grid.
