I was in New York earlier this year writing songs with Mark Ronson for his next record. We were at the Daptones headquarters in Brooklyn where at any given time there would be all sorts of musicians coming in and out, playing poker, jamming and sipping whiskey. I laid down a couple of scratch vocals in falsetto. Mark said to me, " I hope this doesn't offend you, but you sound like Sylvester." I'd never heard this before. "Offended, not at all - I love Sylvester," I responded.

Later that week I went digging around in record stores for his records. This sent me into Sylvester frenzy. I became fascinated with his music and his life. I've been really inspired by him recently and thought I'd share it with you.

Here's one of my favorite songs of his: Don't Stop. Enjoy.  x Sam
